Neighbor Connect is a functional connection of one neighbor’s skill to another neighbor’s need through databasing and categorizing the services volunteers can offer our community.
Today when people are struggling, they often turn to impersonal bureaucratic systems for help. Not that long ago, neighbors were the first to respond to need in their communities. We believe it should be like that again. It's why we created Neighbor Connect.
If you would like to use your skills and gifts, please join us in meeting the needs and blessing those in the Joplin community and the surrounding areas. We will contact you periodically when someone comes to us with a need that fits your abilities and schedule.
I so appreciate David, from CJ, who is taking care of a elderly woman's lawn again this year. He has been such a blessing to her and to our ministry at Neighbor Connect. Thanks, David, for being Jesus' hands and feet for this sweet woman of God.
What a help Christopher was when a young, wheel-chair bound gentleman needed help with his lawn. He was quick to respond and right out there to do the work! Thanks, Christopher, for your compassionate and faithful heart to serve someone in need.
A big 'thank you' goes out to Joshua from Life.Church! He is helping out a woman who is stuggling financially, has health issues and has no lawn mower of her own. Joshua will be doing weekly lawn care and it will be such a huge help to her. Thanks, Joshua, for helping out your Joplin neighbor...coming all the way from Riverside!
Once again I want to thank Kevin for a job well done! Kevin helped an elderly gentleman, with a history of falls that has placed him in the hospital, with a swap of televisions to new locations in his apartment. Mr. Frank was most pleased! Thanks again for your help and loyalty to Neighbor Connect!
What a team effort it was to help a couple needing to move to an apartment with less stairs due to mobility issues. My appreciation goes out to Kyle and Jonathan plus 4 Forge volunteers (Tony, Raymond, Jim and Jose)! They all worked hard to pull off this move in record time...and on a beautiful sunny day! Thanks again for your sacrifice of time to make this possible!
What a help Kevin was to Ms. Jane to receive a new pair of glasses. Kevin assisted her in getting off a MAPS shuttle bus in her wheelchair and into the optometrist's office to receive her new glasses and have them fitted. He then helped her back onto the bus. Sweet conversation was shared as they waited for the bus to return. Thanks again, Kevin, for your compassionate and loving heart and, also, for your faithfulness to Neighbor Connect!
Three volunteers came together to help an elderly gentleman, who has been disabled by a stroke, with a move to a home with no stairs! These volunteers have been invited by the family to an appreciation dinner. Thanks to Christopher, Daniel and Jacob for your dedication to serve and your love for your 'neighbor'!

What a help we received from Joe, who coordinated a move with some volunteers from The Forge (Riley, Blake and James)! The elderly couple was so appreciative of the help and made several follow-up calls to make certain we all knew it! Thanks, Joe, for coordinating the project and The Forge 'stars' that made this job move forward seemlessly!
Kelli, from James River Church in Joplin, was Jesus' hands and feet to Anita. She took Anita to a doctor's appointment in Springfield. The kindness she showed Anita created a bond and they will be traveling together again to the same doctor in the future. Thank Kelli for going above and beyond!

Carolyn, from Fellowship Baptist Church, went above and beyond helping Mary and Bill get to their doctor's appointments.
